From and interview with AVP Paul Rucker Jr

I started flying U-Control’s in the early 1970’s, progressed to radio control airplanes in 1973. I’ve flown Sport Planes and Old School Pattern Planes as well as 1/2A sized planes. Currently I fly Sport planes, UMX Micros, and some EDF’s.
I am married with 3 children from a previous life, and I have 5 grand children.

I was a club flight instructor years ago.  My club is the El Paso Radio Controllers which is located in Northeast El Paso Tx. The club has been around since the 1960’s.

Here is a mini-work history. I retired from an Federal Agency DCMA. As part of that I served as a NASA Quality Control Inspector and final buy-off/purchase position for the US Government. As a DoD Inspector I oversaw numerous weapon programs, including F-15, F-18, F-22, B-1B, AMRAM, USAF ALCM Missiles, Lockheed ATACMS, F-14, Minuteman III GRP, and countless others. NASA projects included the Space Shuttle, International Space Station (ISS) and Space Launch Systems (SLS).

My certification of disciplines include, Electronics, Electrical, Aerospace, Aircraft, Petroleum and Chemicals, Clothing and Textiles (C&T) and Weapons Grade Software. I have a BSBA from Columbia Southern University (CSU), and a yet unfinished Masters (MBA).

AVP Stew Moore, Jefferson, Texas

This is from and interview with Stew Moore

AVP of the Month is Steward Moore his fascination with flying and modeling started in WWII and continues to this day.  I started with rubber powered, free flight , control line , sailplanes , pattern , pylon , ¼ scale gas and electric models, often flying as a contestant. I have attended model events locally and across the lower United States.

Stew is a 60 year plus member of the AMA, an AMA leader member, Museum patron and Contest Director since the 70”s. I support the AMA’s many club and newcomer programs. My goal is to visit and attend as many Northeast Texas club meetings and flying events as possible in the future.

Mervin Ory of Church Point, Louisiana and member of AOA in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana proudly showed off his amazing Wright Flyer at a recent AOA swap meet. Warping wings and other exact scale details are amazing! Mervin Has been flying RC for over 50 years and is an avid builder. He says that “he always flies what he builds”.
