Today I attended the ARCC Scale Fun Fly. This was their first event since the virus shut everything down. I think there was about 40 or more pilots. The event was not sanctioned. It was just a way for the club to get together with all the crazy going on. The event was just open flying and lots of it. The grilled hamburgers and hot dogs for free.
A big thanks goes to Kory, Les, Dennis and Keith for getting the event started. With out club members like this, events would not happen. The y did a great job. If you see them at the field or a meeting, please thank them.
While we were spreading words of wisdom around, I noticed the older I get, the farther away the ground becomes.
That”s all all for now. Join the AMA and a local cub and go build something.

Enchantment Model Balloons. 13 pilots flying RC balloon at the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta Park. They will also be flying at the fiesta in October along the full size balloons. They will be trying to set a world record of 55 RC balloons at the same event. Dale Cowder is the president and secretary of the club. He organized today’s event . The balloons were tethered today with free flight in the future. Free flight will be line of site only. The balloon are just like the real balloons. The process is the same, put air in balloon and heat it up, away they go.
This club wants to be an AMA club. There is 5 members at this time. I hope they get it done. In a lot of ways, they are just like every RC clubs I’ve been to. Lots of hanger talk and laughing. Lots of fun for the whole family.

Howdy from sunny Albuquerque. Last summer ARCC got together for a club meeting and auction. The auction was for Stan Johnson’s son. He was sick and needed some help. The club members brought some planes out and we auctioned them off. After all was said and done, we raised 3 or 4 hundred dollars.
This is one reason to join a club. A good club becomes like family. A place to go and learn new stuff about planes and to help others in need. You can’t get that flying by yourself. So join your local club and the AMA.
Some time after this meeting Stan’s son passed away. I watched this young man grow up. He was a good man. Mark will be missed by all who knew him.
Jets. I attended ARCC’s Hight desert Jet Fly In here in Albuquerque. They had 24 pilots and lots of fun. Weather was not so well on Thursday and Friday. Saturday was perfect. There was lots of spectators watching the jets. At noon there was a walk of planes.
Phill Knuckles was CD and with his wife Sharron they did a great job. Very well organized. They had lots of help from the local club.
This was the second Jet fly in here in Albuquerque. It was great. Next year I think it will be even better. The word is out. ARCC puts on a real good fly in. Join them next year and have a great time.
