The Arkansas Sky Tigers hosted the 40ish Annual Small Model Airplane Lovers League fun fly at their club field as always on the first weekend in June. If you have never been to this event, you are missing out on a great one! All aspects of our Hobby and some unbelievable flying machines are flown. Mark this one on your Calander, I promise you won’t be disappointed!!
The South Arkansas R/C Club in Eldorado Arkansas hosted its Annual U/C contest on Saturday & Sunday May 14th & 15th. Competitors from several surrounding states were in attendance and plaques and prizes were given out on Sunday! A special thanks goes out to Dutch White with RedWing RC and Stan Fronabarger with Vintage performance planes for the generous donations!
On Saturday May 14th the Conway R/C Club in Conway Arkansas hosted it yearly fun fly at Beaver fork lake. A special thanks to Club President Ken Bolling, Luke Barnett and the other Club members who made it possible.
On May 21st the Mid Arkansas Radio Control Society hosted its 50th Annual Fun Fly. A great time was had by all and Corky’s BBQ was served for lunch. Misha Cartwright won the E F Slick with motor, speed controller & spinner. The last pic is of the two former Arkansas AVP’s Ron Stanfield & Stan Kopreski.
I recently had a chance to work with the Local E A A Chapter 165 in which I was a past President. I set up my Stearman bipe so the scouts could see which controls on the aircraft controlled the pitch, roll & yaw.
We had a great group to get together a few Sundays ago! Central Arkansas Modelers from both the F.A.R.M. Club and M.A.R.C.S. Club enjoyed grate weather and flying before the rainy weather came in every other few days these past two weeks!
The Model Aviators of South Arkansas hosted a swap meet on February 5th at a new location with lots more room.
The weather was still icy in central Arkansas but was nice in Eldorado. A special thanks to all of the Eldorado club members who helped put this on!!
